Analytical Chemical Process Development Scientist - Fixed Term Contract

  • Eurofins Scientific is an international life sciences company, providing a range of analytical testing services across multiple industries to ensure safety, authenticity, and accurate labelling of products.

    This role is a fixed-term contract until February 2026, full-time, 35 hours per week, with flexible hours Monday to Friday between 07:00 - 19:00.

    The purpose is to analyze pharmaceutical raw materials, drug substances, and finished products, producing accurate results efficiently.

    Job Responsibilities

  1. Perform routine and non-routine analysis using traditional and modern techniques as required.
  2. Review analytical data for GMP compliance.
  3. Manage OOS results and action limits following customer procedures.
  4. Assist in report preparation and document data per policies.
  5. Measure productivity using agreed metrics.
  6. Attend meetings to assess productivity and present performance metrics.
  7. Ensure customer requirements are met or exceeded.
  8. Handle customer queries and communicate relevant information.
  9. Stay updated on technological and methodological revisions, completing necessary training.
  10. Train and mentor junior staff in analytical techniques.
  11. Perform QC samples as per procedures.
  12. Support and address audit findings.
  13. Revise SOPs as needed.
  14. Provide coverage for team members and participate in weekend/overtime schedules.
  15. Maintain accurate, timely documentation and coach others in documentation standards.

Qualifications and Experience

  • BSc in Chemistry or related; MSc preferred.
  • Fundamental knowledge of Chemistry.
  • 7-11 years’ experience in pharmaceutical analysis or similar.
  • Experience with HPLC, GC, Karl Fischer, Dissolution, UV spectroscopy.
  • Understanding of chromatographic techniques and GMP requirements.
  • Ability to learn new processes quickly and operate electronically.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and documentation skills.
  • Knowledge of drug development and production lifecycle.
