We were the first to introduce a law to protect animals and have been working hard ever since to ensure that all animals can live free from pain and suffering. Through our campaigns, we raise standards of care and awareness of issues affecting animals today. Our vision is to one day live in a world where all animals are respected and treated with compassion. That is what we work towards every day.

Position: Veterinary Nurse

We are looking for a new Veterinary Nurse to work within the Clinical team at Manchester Animal Hospital, reporting to the Nursing Manager.

  • Working hours: 35 hours per week, on a roster covering variable shifts between 7am-10pm, including shifts at 7am-3pm, 8am-4pm, 10am-6pm, or 2pm-10pm.

  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date clinical records

  • Ensuring high standards of clinical hygiene and biosecurity
  • Anaesthetic monitoring, perioperative nursing, and theatre practice in a busy modern operating theatre
  • Engaging in ongoing professional development
  • Supporting welfare and case work

This role involves working 35 hours per week across shifts including days, evenings, weekends, and nights. Please note that this is a fixed-term role for 12 months.

  • Additional Society day around Christmas
  • Comprehensive pension scheme
  • Career development through in-house training

Additional Information

Note: Roles may close earlier than advertised due to high interest. Early applications are encouraged. We value diversity and actively encourage applications from minority ethnic groups and people with disabilities, as these groups are underrepresented in our workforce.

Our mission is to ensure animals have a good life through rescue, care, advocacy, and inspiring compassion and respect.
