Role Overview
The Tool Store Operation / Support Equipment Technician/Custodian is responsible for managing and maintaining all aircraft maintenance ground support equipment and tooling. Proactively working to support all the Aircraft Maintenance activity, this role is key to ensuring that the team delivers on our contracted requirements.
The Boeing P-8 Poseidon Maritime Patrol Aircraft is a military aircraft developed by Boeing Defence, built on a modified design of the 737-800ERX. The Aircraft is fitted with equipment to tackle a diverse range of missions, including protecting submarines and reconnaissance missions. The platform was initially developed for the US Navy, first flown in 2009 and introduced in 2013. In 2019, the UK Ministry of Defence received the first of a fleet of nine P-8A Aircraft.Boeing Defence UK maintain this fleet of aircraft contractually on behalf of the UK Ministry of Defence within RAF Lossiemouth.
Responsibilities
The E7 Tool Store Operative/ Support Equipment Technician provides direct control and supervision of all tools and aircraft equipment required for Aircraft Maintenance, Major Repairs and Modifications undertaken by the Boeing team in Lossiemouth.
You will also be responsible for managing and maintaining all aircraft maintenance ground support equipment and tooling, in support of onsite maintenance activities. Working a Monday to Friday shift-based rota in the Boeing Toolstore within the Atlantic Building, the priority is to support the Boeing Aircraft Maintenance Team by ensuring maximum tool availability and responding quickly to emergent needs.
