Garment Technologist

Manchester

A leadingname in the retail sector is seeking a Garment Technologist / ProductDeveloper to join their growing own brand development team based intheir Manchester head office.

You will beresponsible for developing new own brand offerings across fashionincluding men’s, women’s, kid’s and accessories to achieve themaximising sales and profit to ensure the continued growth across bothstores and online. Working closely with the Design, Buying andMerchandising departments.

Some additional dutieswill include;

• Responsible for all the samples stagesincluding measuring & sending comments on own brand samples across allcategories, ensuring they are completed within the required CPtimeframes.
• Ensuring all products are compliant with specificregulations, product safety and legislations.
• Workingalongside senior developers throughout the product development cycleensuring the own brand quality and fit standards are achieved.
• Provides team support to ensure the successful completion ofdelivery priorities across the own brand department.
• Managingthe critical path to ensure that the overall development process issmooth and production dates are maintained.
• Highlighting andresolving any issues with the Merchandising and Supply Chain team.
• Provides department support in all areas from suppliercommunication, record keeping, filing systems, movement of samples andsample storage

The ideal candidate will have

• A relevant fashion or textile degree is preferred but notessential
• Excellent communication skills and the ability toliaise / influence at all levels.
• Ability to manage a variedworkload with conflicting and tight deadlines.
• Strong numerical skills withthe ability to analyse data.
• Good working knowledge of MSOffice products specifically Excel
