What you'll do at work

Arnold Wills and Company in Uppingham, Rutland, are looking for an Accounting Apprentice to join their team. You will work towards achieving your Level 2 AAT qualification.

Arnold Wills and Company are renowned for high-quality leather craftsmanship and timeless designs, with worldwide distribution.

In this role, you will learn about:

  • Processing purchase invoices (matching against purchase orders or coding directly)
  • Ensuring approval processes are followed for all invoices, with accurate records
  • Supporting the timely closure of purchase orders and GRNI, and resolving queries
  • Proposing and processing weekly supplier BACS payments, including foreign payments
  • Processing ad hoc payments and transfers (approved by Head of Finance or substitute)
  • Maintaining Direct Debits, ensuring invoices are authorized and processed promptly
  • Processing colleagues' credit card expenses monthly, ensuring proper completion and authorization
  • Processing colleagues' expenses and providing support as needed
  • Reconciling bank statements to ledgers (daily or weekly)
  • Identifying and resolving unallocated receipts and payments
  • Breaking down bulk receipts using platforms like PayPal to track sales and commissions
  • Tracking deposits, investments, FOREX transfers, and maintaining petty cash securely
Additional attendance at Corby College Campus starting September 2025, one day a week.
