Senior Process Engineer

A globally leading Chemical company based in the Blackpool area is seeking a Senior Process Engineer to join one of their sites on a permanent basis.

Salary: £58,000 - £67,500 per annum

As the Senior Process Engineer, you will be part of one of the world's largest chemical manufacturers, focusing on providing transformational and sustainable solutions for various industries such as Automotive, Aviation, Medical, and Electronics.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Lead design for capital projects, including optioneering, equipment specification, and detailed design.
2. Create, check, and approve relevant deliverables and vendor documents like PFDs, mass energy balances, P&IDs, trip and interlock schedules, and control philosophies.
3. Lead input hazard studies, relief and blowdown studies, area classification reviews, and LOPA reviews.
4. Commission new equipment installed as part of projects and supervise commissioning technicians and contractors when required.
5. Deliver plant optimization projects to reduce operating costs and increase plant output.
6. Provide technical expertise to the operations team for troubleshooting and continuous improvement.
7. Support design, installation, and commissioning to ensure capital projects meet SHE, quality, schedule, and cost targets.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in delivering major capital projects on COMAH regulated plants.
• Significant knowledge of Plant Safety including hazard studies, functional safety, DSEAR, and pressure relief.
• Practical application of continuous improvement methods like lean six sigma.
• Degree in Chemical Engineering discipline and Chartered status.
