There is also an opportunity to become Clinical Lead for the Stroke Service for candidates with the right experience. This role includes additional remuneration and PA allowance within the Job Plan.

The Royal Lancaster Infirmary provides an active acute thrombolysis service (with thrombectomy at Royal Preston Hospital) and utilizes the specialist Telestroke On-Call Service out of hours and at weekends. You may join the general medicine On-Call Rota, Telestroke On-Call rota, or both.
The role supports the ongoing development of the Stroke Service. You will work alongside existing Stroke Consultants, the Care of the Elderly Team, and General Medicine colleagues. Coordination with Neuroradiology, Neurosurgery, and Vascular Surgery Teams, as well as Stroke Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Matrons, Ward Managers, Nurses, Therapists, and Secretaries, is essential to providing excellent patient care throughout the hospital journey. You will also provide clinical leadership to a dedicated team.

We seek a passionate colleague proficient in Stroke Medicine to provide acute medical and rehabilitation care. The role includes contributing to a high-quality TIA Service. A new, combined Acute and Rehabilitation Stroke Unit was opened in December 2019.
You will see patients in the Combined Stroke Unit, the TIA Clinic, and undertake Out-Patient Clinics. Allocation of time for SPA and clinical administration work is included.
