What Does a Project Engineer Do?
As a member of the Bacardi UK SC Capex Team, you will provide professional project management and engineering technical support for our Manufacturing Operations. This key engineering role involves working with local site management teams and other stakeholders to develop and deliver strategic projects aligned with UK SC’s Big Bets, future volume growth projections, ambitions for Net Zero operational sites by 2030, and energy and operational asset reliability improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Support development and delivery of strategic Capex plans for Manufacturing within Bacardi UK Operations.
- Manage manufacturing-related Capex projects from conception to completion, engaging effectively with all stakeholders to ensure delivery within specifications, schedule, and budget.
- Oversee all contractor activities related to projects to ensure compliance with safety requirements.
- Manage project finances and support control of the UK SC Capex budget.
- Provide local engineering support for the Net Zero initiative by 2030.
- Ensure compliance with engineering legislative requirements (e.g., PSSR, DSEAR, PUWER) by working with SQS and engineering teams.
- Collaborate with wider Bacardi UK Engineering Teams to develop standards and share best practices.
- Maintain up-to-date technical records for all engineering projects, ensuring adherence to change management procedures.
- Support the development of project management processes within Bacardi UK SC.
- Contribute technical input and support cost-saving, improvement, and innovation activities.
Skills & Experience
- University degree in Engineering or Science, with a minimum of 5 years industry experience preferred.
- Knowledge of spirits bottling, packaging processes, and associated plant.
- Strong project management skills for major capital projects.
- Understanding of asset care and lifecycle management related to equipment.
- Knowledge of health & safety legislation (e.g., CDM, DSEAR, PUWER), ideally with NEBOSH qualification.
- Qualified engineering professional with industry experience, passionate about continuous improvement and innovation.
- Experience leading major Capex projects with a solid understanding of project delivery strategies and environmental legislation.
- Excellent teamworking and communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
