Base Location:

Glasgow, Edinburgh, London or Aberdeen

Business Unit:

Part of Xodus Group, Evolv Energies is at the forefront of major international projects, providing a unique, integrated perspective and specialist engineering expertise to support offshore developers, investors, and the wider construction and installation supply chain through Concept, Pre-FEED, FEED, and Detailed Design, as well as Construction and Installation activities. Our focus areas include offshore wind, interconnectors, and energy transition projects.

Role:

The Engineering Manager - Structures will be responsible for delivering structural engineering outputs for our projects. You will provide technical expertise in ongoing projects, bids, and proposals, and represent Evolv Energies at client and stakeholder meetings as needed.

Requirements

Primary Roles & Responsibilities include:

1. Provide inspirational leadership, mentoring, and management to the Structural Engineering team.
2. Lead the development of technology, team capabilities, and growth.
3. Collaborate with internal stakeholders such as TAs, SMEs, and other discipline Engineers to deliver structural engineering services, ensuring compliance with industry standards (ISO, API, DNV, NORSOK, etc.) and certification requirements.
4. Lead structural engineering excellence through tenders, feasibility studies, project specifications, design reviews, and assurance processes.
5. Ensure projects and tenders meet both Evolv Energies and client engineering standards, maintaining quality assurance throughout.
6. Allocate necessary structural engineering resources for projects during tendering and delivery phases.
7. Incorporate sound engineering practices and innovation into designs, including pioneering machine learning and AI techniques to enhance efficiency.
8. Promote and manage safety in design across projects, ensuring compliance with legislation and effective delivery of CDM Principal Designer and Designer roles.

Role Requirements include:

A proactive, can-do attitude with a willingness to work collaboratively at all levels.

Chartered Engineer with proven expertise in offshore wind structural engineering, with a thorough understanding of engineering deliverables across all project phases.

• Recognized industry expert with experience in offshore wind projects, including fixed and floating structures, and offshore substations, with detailed structural engineering knowledge.
• Significant experience in a structural engineering management role.
• Excellent communication skills at all organizational levels and with external stakeholders.
• Interest in developing external and internal relationships, participating in industry groups and professional bodies.
