Position Overview
The stock controller is responsible for receiving, unpacking, and preparing merchandise for the shop floor. They maintain the organization, cleanliness, and control of stock and inventory.
Job Description
- Ensure the stock room is organized and clean, enabling merchandise to be ready for the shop floor at any time.
- Monitor all deliveries and upload them into the store's system within the required timeframe.
- Execute all transfers, including IBTs, RBTs, faulty goods, end-of-season stock, and staff uniforms.
- Investigate and report discrepancies to minimize stock loss.
- Record and communicate stock levels, slow sellers, and best sellers to the store team.
- Plan and complete checks prior to stock takes.
- Carry out stock takes.
- Communicate effectively with senior stock controllers.
- Sensor, steam, fold, and hang merchandise as required.
- Bring new deliveries to the shop floor.
- Assist with customer service and selling as assigned by the store manager.
- Work according to deadlines.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities
- Participate in store meetings and related functions.
- Perform housekeeping and maintenance duties.
- Travel and work at different locations as necessary.
- Maintain standards in line with job requirements and company policies.
- Complete additional duties assigned by management.
- Work extra hours as required.
- Use and care for equipment and materials properly.
- Complete duties timely and satisfactorily.
- Adhere to work schedule punctually.
- Work effectively with colleagues and management.
- Maintain a clean and presentable appearance, adhering to the dress code.
- Represent a positive attitude toward merchandise and the company.
- Follow the company's rules and guidelines, including the 6 Guess Rules and the employee handbook.
