A leading company in the waste-to-energy sector is seeking a Preservation Operative for their facility in Derby. The role involves preserving key operational assets, ensuring safety and compliance, and working within a small team on a shift basis. Candidates should have basic engineering skills and experience in power plant operations, with a commitment to health and safety.
Contract Type: Fixed Term until March 2026 (with potential extension)
Salary: Up to £44,212.35 per annum DOE
Working Pattern: 4 on 4 off – 12 hour shifts (Days and Nights)
Overtime: Paid at 1.5 times
The Derby EfW Facility (DDWTC) is currently in preservation mode due to operational challenges during commissioning. A plan to re-commission and restore full operation is underway.
As part of a small team, your primary responsibility will be to preserve the Materials Recycling Facility (MRF) and Advanced Conversion Technology (ACT) Gasification Plant at Sinfin in Derby. Reporting to the Operations Engineer and Shift Team Leaders, you will ensure preservation activities are carried out safely and efficiently. You will collaborate with site colleagues and maintenance staff to complete routine tasks that preserve assets and maintain safety and security at DDWTC.
