The Opportunity:

An exceptional primary school in Kent is looking for a dedicated and motivated Year 6 Teacher to join their team in September 2025. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced teacher to work with a group of vibrant and motivated students as they prepare for the transition to secondary school. The successful candidate will be part of a passionate team of educators who are committed to providing an inspiring and challenging education that encourages students to achieve their full potential. Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, deliver, and assess engaging lessons in line with the Year 6 National Curriculum, focusing on preparing pupils for their transition to secondary school.

  • Use a variety of assessment tools to track pupil progress, provide constructive feedback, and support individual learning needs.

  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that encourages independent thinking and a love of learning.

  • Work collaboratively with other teachers, support staff, and school leadership to ensure a consistent and high standard of education.

  • Communicate effectively with parents and carers, providing regular updates on pupil progress and addressing any concerns.

  • Contribute to the wider life of the school by participating in extracurricular activities, school events, and professional development.

Person Specification:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.

  • Strong understanding of the Year 6 curriculum and proven experience of teaching in Key Stage 2.

  • Excellent classroom management skills, with the ability to create a focused and engaging learning environment.

  • Ability to assess pupil progress, differentiate lessons, and provide support to students preparing for SATs and secondary school.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.

  • A commitment to continuous professional development and contributing to the positive culture of the school.
