Job Description:

Are you looking for a career move that will put you at the heart of a global financial institution?

By joining Citi, you will become part of a global organization whose mission is to serve as a trusted partner to our clients by responsibly providing financial services that enable growth and economic progress.

Role Overview:

Serves as a Compliance Surveillance Analyst for Independent Compliance Risk Management (ICRM)’s Surveillance team. Responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing surveillances to detect behaviors that may violate regulatory rules or internal policies. When anomalous behavior is detected, the team escalates the activity and collaborates with partners across the first and second lines of defense to resolve the matter, which may include employee discipline.

The ICRM Global Surveillance platform includes portfolios such as trade surveillance, e-communications and voice surveillance, employee trading, outside activities surveillance, and information barrier surveillance.

What you'll be doing:

  • Reviewing and analyzing surveillance alerts regarding firm, employee, and client trading activity. Documenting reviews and escalating issues appropriately.
  • Gathering and analyzing trade data to respond to inquiries from regulatory bodies. Supporting evaluation of surveillance results and communicating findings to management.
  • Responding to inquiries from internal partners (ICRM Assurance, Internal Audit, Legal).
  • Designing and refining surveillance processes.
  • Handling telephone hotlines and data entry tasks.
  • Assessing risk in business decisions, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations, and reporting control issues transparently.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned.

What we'll need from you:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-starter, flexible, innovative, and adaptive.
  • Interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across all organizational levels.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Knowledge of compliance laws, rules, regulations, risks, and typologies.
  • Some relevant knowledge in the focus area.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience in financial services, regulatory, legal, or consulting fields. An advanced degree is preferred.

What we can offer you:

We aim to have a positive financial and social impact. We prioritize our employees' well-being with benefits such as:

  • Generous holiday allowance starting at 27 days plus bank holidays, increasing with tenure.
  • Performance-related bonus.
  • Private medical insurance options.
  • Employee Assistance Program.
  • Pension Plan.
  • Paid Parental Leave.
  • Employee discounts for family and friends.
  • Learning and development resources.

We foster a workplace where everyone can be their whole self, energized, motivated, and empowered.
