Mechanical Design Engineer – Manufacturing – Telford – Up to 49,000

Are you a hands–on mechanical design engineer who enjoys working directly with customers to create tailored solutions? This exciting opportunity is based within a growing and respected engineering manufacturer in Telford, specialising in precision motion systems used across multiple industries from automation to medical and packaging.

You'll be joining a collaborative, technically focused team where your design expertise and problem–solving skills will make a direct impact.

The Role:

As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will:

• Work directly with customers to understand application requirements and propose technical solutions
• Design custom mechanical assemblies using 2D and 3D CAD (SolidWorks preferred)
• Prepare detailed proposals, drawings, and project documentation
• Support projects from initial concept through to delivery
• Attend client site visits (UK and occasional overseas travel) to support design and implementation

What We're Looking For:

• A degree or HND/HNC in Mechanical Engineering (or similar)
• Proficiency in CAD design (ideally SolidWorks)
• Strong problem–solving skills and a practical engineering mindset
• Excellent communication skills with a customer–focused approach
• A self–starter who enjoys variety and taking ownership of projects
