Job Description:

Kennedys is looking for a Global Legal Directories & Awards Manager to join our Business Development & Marketing (BD&M) team. The successful candidate will work closely with the Head of Marketing and Communications, and other members of the Global BD&M Leadership team to develop and deliver a legal directories & awards roadmap for the global function, ensuring we manage the legal directories and our awards submission process across the network.

This is a new role, providing a unique opportunity for an ambitious professional to join a dynamic, growing, global law firm, and have a real impact on helping to build the reputation of our people and the firm in the market.

Team

Kennedys' Business Development & Marketing team promotes Kennedys' services and supports the firm's global growth ambition and our key clients and markets.

There are four distinct global functions: Pursuits, Clients and Markets, Marketing & Communications, and Marketing Technology & Data. These functions support BD&M activity across five regions – APAC, EMEA, LATAM, UK, and the US.

This role reports into the Head of Marketing and Communications and will work closely with each of the global functions.

Key responsibilities

  1. Lead the global legal directories and awards submission programme on behalf of the function, working in close collaboration with our global BD&M colleagues responsible for legal directories and awards in their region.
  2. Lead stakeholder engagement across the network to ensure consistency of messaging around the legal directories and awards programme, emphasizing the value of these programmes. Ensure external messaging and outputs align with our global messaging and strategic priorities.
  3. Develop policies, processes, and guidance to ensure global consistency.
  4. Develop a global infrastructure to: track directory and award submission deadlines, standardize the process to support BD&M colleagues and lawyers, implement best practices using tools, guides, and training materials, and capture, share, and publish rankings and quotes for firm-wide use.
  5. Provide editorial support, guidance, and quality control to team members.
  6. Draft legal directory and award submissions as needed.
  7. Ensure data compliance when sharing client and matter information.
  8. Manage the relationship with legal directory and awards providers.
  9. Develop, manage, and oversee the firm's award submission process, collaborating with the Marketing & Communications team to enhance our profile at all levels.

Required experience

  1. Experience managing legal directories is essential; experience with awards programs is desirable.
  2. Previous experience in a business development or marketing role within professional services is essential.
  3. Strong project management skills to meet deadlines efficiently.
  4. Excellent written communication and attention to detail.
  5. Strong presentation and communication skills, with confidence in stakeholder interactions at all levels.
  6. Leadership and influencing skills to gain trust and demonstrate advisory capabilities.
  7. Self-starter with experience working collaboratively in a virtual global team.
  8. Critical thinking and problem-solving skills to deliver tangible outcomes.
  9. A curious mind interested in leveraging directories and awards to support other client experience programs.
