This senior-level Generative AI (GenAI) leadership role focuses on driving strategic AI transformation within the insurance industry. It combines deep technical knowledge with business acumen, regulatory insight, and leadership skills to guide cross-functional teams. The role plays a key part in shaping the future of insurance through scalable, ethical, and innovative GenAI solutions.

A bit about the job:

This role leads the strategic design and implementation of Generative AI solutions across insurance functions such as underwriting, claims, and customer service. It requires a blend of technical expertise, domain knowledge, and change management skills to drive digital transformation in a regulated enterprise environment.

  • Lead AI strategy aligned with underwriting, claims, and customer experience goals.
  • Oversee full-stack GenAI solution development and enterprise integration.
  • Champion responsible AI, regulatory compliance, and engineering culture transformation.
  • Collaborate with IT, legal, risk, and product teams to facilitate adoption.
Skills and experience we’re looking for:
  • Strategic AI leadership with insurance domain expertise, including experience aligning GenAI initiatives with insurance operations like underwriting, claims, and fraud detection. Ability to translate AI capabilities into measurable business outcomes.
  • Proficiency in full-stack GenAI and ML engineering, with hands-on knowledge of LLM integration, RAG pipelines, and cloud deployment. Familiarity with LangChain, vector databases (Pinecone, Weaviate), and secure API usage.
  • Experience in enterprise change management and modernization, including upgrading legacy tech stacks and upskilling teams. Skilled in building alignment across IT, data, risk, and leadership.
  • Deep understanding of responsible AI, risk management, and compliance, including AI governance, model explainability, and regulatory frameworks (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR). Experience establishing internal guardrails for safe, auditable GenAI use.
  • Proven leadership in attracting, mentoring, and retaining AI talent, with a track record of scaling teams and fostering an ethical, innovative culture.

  • Salary: £120,000 - £140,000 (national), £140,000 - £160,000 (London), depending on skills and experience.
