Job description

Role – Multi Skilled Tradesman - Peterborough

Hourly rate: £14.85 per hour.

Extensive overtime opportunities.

Opportunity to earn additional hourly rate between £0.25 - £4.38 based on skill set and behaviours.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Multi Skilled Tradesman to join our team in the Portakabin Hire Division based in Peterborough. In this role, you will be responsible for assembling and installing manufactured components or products according to design specifications and tolerances. This includes the safe handling, moving, installing, and finishing of products to specification and within deadlines, under the guidance of a line manager.

Role Responsibilities

1. Apply lean principles and techniques to help and contribute to your team in delivering and exceeding KPI targets.
2. Ensure compliance with relevant Health and Safety practices and all applicable legislation to maintain a zero-harm environment and culture.
3. Prepare products for installation or dismantling to ensure safe transport.
4. Undertake the installation or dismantling of Building Services products to agreed standards efficiently.
5. Carry out after-hire inspections and report findings upon the products' return to the depot to prepare invoices for damages.
6. Liaise with stores to ensure correct materials are available for tasks.
7. Ensure all product materials are stored safely and tidily.
8. Maintain company vehicles, tools, and equipment to high standards to maximize their lifespan and usability.
9. Prepare Building Services products as needed.
10. Thoroughly segregate waste to meet environmental requirements.
11. Prioritize the reuse of fittings and materials without compromising quality.

Our Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone with:

• Proven operational experience related to the trade/role.
• Experience working in a client-facing role.
• Strong relationship-building skills with customers and staff.
• Experience in the construction or related industry.
• Full UK Driving Licence (for driving to customer sites).
• GCSE Maths and English at Grade 4 or above (or equivalent).
• Ability to accept and tackle demanding goals with enthusiasm.
• Good organizational and planning skills.
