Salary: £44,500 - £68,000 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.
Contract type: 1 x Fixed Term Contract until 27/03/2026
Location: Office Base is London. This is a hybrid role and the successful candidate will balance office working with home working

Job Introduction
The Growth Marketing role will create strategic initiatives designed to increase BBC iPlayer (and BBC Sounds) consumption across a range of audience cohorts, working closely with Editorial and Product teams towards a set of shared goals.
You will brief internal media and creative teams to execute your strategic plans across owned and third party digital media channels. You will optimise the plan in line with performance data and identify new opportunities to drive growth.
BBC iPlayer has recorded remarkable year on year growth, outstripping all its competitors across all audiences – powered by creativity and storytelling from across the UK.
The unique range available to audiences on BBC iPlayer provides a wide range of content and experiences they can’t find anywhere else.
BBC iPlayer is looking to attract an experienced marketing professional to help drive further growth of the platform throughout 25/6.
Main Responsibilities
Create a lower funnel marketing strategy and plan to drive BBC iPlayer growth through the lower funnel
Oversee the creation of a lower funnel multi-channel media strategy and plan that will deliver on the BBC iPlayer marketing strategy
Develop customer lifecycle, customer lifetime value, and next best action frameworks to optimise weekly consumption of BBC iPlayer
Identify key user journeys and gaps in these journeys to exploit new growth opportunities that drive BBC iPlayer consumption
Formulate and execute the audience segmentation strategy for digital media channels, utilising CRM (Customer Relationship Management) tools
Oversee an experimentation roadmap, conducting A/B and multi-variant tests, and validating hypotheses
Oversee the creation, approval, compliance and supply of assets that will deliver on the marketing strategy
Measure performance using attribution methods to maximise KPIs and use data to continuously improve efficiency
Respond to changes in audience behaviour, technology, and wider strategy to optimise campaigns
Forecast marketing performance and produce insightful reports for stakeholders
Establish influential relationships with peers in Marketing, Media, Creative, Editorial, and Product teams, and act as an arbitration path when required
Work collaboratively with upper and mid funnel marketing and media teams to contribute effectively to a cohesive platform marketing strategy, aligned to brand and growth goals
Are you the right candidate
Demonstrate achievement at a senior level in the performance or retention marketing space and familiarity with a wide range of media channels
Demonstrate extensive knowledge and experience of creating product retention strategies
Experience in targeting audience segmentations using CRM/CDP (Customer Data Platform) tools and activating these segments in various digital channels
Experience in managing people, setting clear objectives, providing regular feedback, and fostering creativity in an inclusive culture
Proficiency in digital measurement tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Piano, Adobe) and experience in using insights to inform and test hypotheses
Demonstrate exceptional interpersonal, negotiation, and influencing skills, with experience collaborating across organisational boundaries
Able to articulate a clear vision and strategy, generating innovative ideas and approaches, and staying ahead of industry developments
Experience of planning and managing budgets to deliver on business growth objectives and strategy
Able to comply with BBC’s rules, procedures, guidelines, and policies, managing and mitigating risks and issues
