Job description

M&E Compliance Maintenance Officer (Public Sector)
VANRATH are assisting our client, a large Public Sector Organisation, in their search for an M&E Compliance Maintenance Officer for 6 months initially with the possibility of extension/permanent in their Ballymena Office.

Responsibilities

  1. Respond on a day to day basis to requests from building users, for urgent repairs to their mechanical and electrical systems and infrastructure including kitchen equipment and other services deemed necessary.
  2. Respond quickly and effectively to requests for day to day emergency maintenance and repairs to the Mechanical and Electrical Services installations and equipment in all properties.
  3. Carry out regular visits to properties in relation to day-to-day maintenance problems and planned maintenance programmes.
  4. Appoint and supervise contractors of various disciplines to carry out maintenance repairs and planned maintenance projects.
  5. Issue and being accountable for works orders to contractors, for maintenance works and tendered projects.
  6. Inspect, supervise and instruct Contractors of various disciplines in relation to the quality of work in progress.
  7. Co-operate with DRD, DENI, Water Service, Local Councils, NIE and Health and Safety Inspectorate to enable maintenance projects to be carried out effectively and in compliance with relevant legislation.

Essential skills required

  1. HNC/HND or equivalent in Mechanical or Electrical studies
  2. Experience of day to day organisation and operation of all matters relating to statutory compliance across a medium to large estate
  3. Experience of liaising with contractors to ensure statutory compliance KPIs are met
  4. Demonstrate the ability to work with a wide range of professionals as part of a multi-disciplinary team and the technical ability and knowledge to contribute as an effective member of a team
  5. Flexibility to meet changing demands and to prioritise as required

Remuneration
£38,626, per annum, plus discount benefits.
