We are currently looking to expand our successful Criminal Justice Recovery Coordination teams with an opportunity for a Police Liaison Worker at our Bishop Auckland Service in County Durham.
Our teams support individuals experiencing problematic substance use. The Liaison Worker role will enable us to provide specialist, tailored support to help service users make positive changes, and equip us with the knowledge and resources to reach and engage people with diverse needs within our communities.
As a Police Liaison Worker, you will collaborate closely with police colleagues to support members of the public who may have transgressed the law but do not require prosecution. You will offer advice, support, and guidance regarding the dangers of drug and alcohol misuse.
With support from the Harm Minimisation Lead and Outreach Worker, you will provide tailored guidance to minimise harmful behaviours and, if necessary, support individuals into services requiring more substantial assistance. You will adopt a holistic, whole-person approach, ensuring each service user's care plan addresses all aspects of their wellbeing, not just substance use, to achieve optimal outcomes.
