About This Role

As a Careers & Enterprise Developer, you’ll play a key role in enhancing the career confidence and prospects of our students and recent graduates. You’ll collaborate across academic and professional services teams to design and deliver inclusive, student-centred career learning activities that align with the curriculum and support our graduate outcomes.

Your work will include:

  • Co-creating and delivering engaging careers and enterprise education both in and beyond the curriculum.
  • Working one-to-one and in groups to support students through career coaching, workshops, guidance sessions, and enterprise-focused learning.
  • Empowering students to identify their career goals, build their employability skills, and take confident steps toward their aspirations including freelance and self-employment.
  • Embedding entrepreneurial thinking and career management skills into extracurricular learning experiences.
  • Using your pedagogic knowledge and insight into employability trends to shape innovative and responsive support for all learners.


You’ll be joining a forward-thinking service that integrates Careers Library, and Digital Learning services in one team — all working together to improve the student experience and graduate success.

About You

We are looking for two individuals with a passion for supporting students and a sound understanding of employability and enterprise development in higher education. You will bring:

  • Experience in designing and delivering inclusive, engaging learning interventions.
  • A student-first mindset and a collaborative approach to working with others.
  • The ability to reflect on practice, keep up with sector trends, and use data and feedback to inform your work.
  • Confidence delivering in varied formats – including workshops, drop-ins, and digital platforms.


One of our roles, the 1.0 FTE role, will be located at our city campus which is at the heart of Bristol’s creative and cultural quarter. You will be working with students from a range of creative backgrounds, so experience of the arts and cultural sectors is a plus. Our second opportunity is a 0.5FTE post based at Frenchay Campus which offers cutting-edge facilities and you will be working with students from across the university and beyond supporting exciting impactful projects. An interest in supporting a broad range of projects and experience in graduate or postgraduate support.

Where is this role based?

The first full time (1FTE) post is based at our City Campus in Bristol city centre which comprises of Bower Ashton Studios, Arnolfini, Spike Island and Watershed and is home to UWE Bristol's creative and cultural subjects. However, you will be expected to spend time with our creative programmes based at our Frenchay Campus at least one day a week.

The second (0.5FTE) post is based at our lively Frenchay campus where we have invested in the latest facilities and resources to give both our staff and students access to everything they need to succeed.

We are looking for two posts. One full-time, permanent post, working 37 hours per week and another post is part-time permanent post working 18.5 hours per week.

This role is therefore campus based for 4 days per week in the case of a full time post, or fully campus based in case of part-time role.
