Job Description

Support Worker, Care Assistant, Sandwell Council, Adult Services Team - Must have a minimum of 2 years+ UK experience within an Adult Social Work team.

Our client is looking for a Support Worker with 2 years+ UK experience within an Adults team. The responsibilities will include:

  1. Looking for a Senior Care Assistant to work 37 hours per week at Fountain Court, a 16-bedded residential unit for people with dementia.
  2. Providing leadership to a small team to provide person-centred care in order to meet the individual needs of the service users, ensuring their safety and wellbeing.
  3. Having a good understanding of the needs of older people with dementia, effective communication skills, and the ability to produce clear and accurate records.
  4. Must have a Level 2 in Health and Social Care or equivalent and must have 2 years’ experience in a role caring for the elderly.
  5. Must also have experience in working as a team member, supervisory experience, as well as experience in the handling of medication.
  6. Able to prioritise work and work to deadlines under pressure.
  7. Liaise appropriately with colleagues and other professionals.
  8. 37 hours per week (flexible by negotiation).
  9. Immediate start.
  10. 3 Month Temporary Contract.

The successful candidate will need to hold an NVQ3 in Health & Social Care or equivalent, have a current DBS, and be a car driver.
