Job Description:
A major organisation is seeking a highly skilled AI Specialist - Automation & Integration to develop innovative solutions across business operations. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in data science and a passion for using AI to streamline workflows, boost efficiency, and deliver measurable impact through advanced automation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and deploy AI-powered solutions that automate and enhance complex business processes.
- Collaborate closely with IT, engineering, and operations teams to understand business needs and translate them into technical solutions.
- Build intelligent automation pipelines using tools such as Python, OpenAI APIs, LangChain, and n8n.
- Apply Large Language Models (LLMs) to real-world challenges like email triage, document parsing, and data enrichment.
- Implement retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) to power internal AI assistants with trusted business knowledge.
- Rapidly prototype and iterate on Proofs of Concept to test ideas and gather user feedback early.
- Use AI agents to automate repetitive, rule-based tasks across internal systems.
- Monitor the performance of deployed models, ensuring they align with business goals and deliver clear ROI.
- Document workflows and share learning across teams to support wider AI adoption.
- Stay current with developments in AI, automation, and machine learning tools and techniques.
What We’re Looking For:
- Demonstrable experience in a Data Scientist or AI Automation role.
- Hands-on expertise with natural language processing (NLP) and Large Language Models (LLMs).
- Experience using Python, OpenAI, LangChain, and vector databases.
- Familiarity with automation platforms like n8n, Zapier, or similar.
- Solid understanding of retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) methods.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to design practical AI solutions with business outcomes in mind.
- Excellent communication skills – able to work cross-functionally and explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Self-starter mindset with the ability to manage projects independently in a hybrid or remote environment.
- Experience working in agile environments and iterating based on user feedback.
Preferred Skills:
- Background in deploying AI/ML models to production (MLOps).
- Experience using cloud platforms such as Azure.
- Interest or experience in building autonomous agents or internal AI assistants.

Location: Remote with very occasional travel (UK-based)
Salary: Up to £90,000 + typical benefits
