Operations and Maintenance Engineer

We are recruiting an Operations & Maintenance Engineer to work on Highways England Contracts, performing maintenance and commissioning activities in designated areas including the top of M25, M4, M11, and bottom of M1, A14, M40, A1(M).

Do you enjoy working with a supportive team while using your initiative to solve problems in the field? Our Engineers are key to delivering and supervising maintenance, installation, cabling, and civils works, helping to keep the nation's infrastructure connected and protected 24/7.

What you’ll do:

• Attend to cable breaks and repairs on copper and fibre cables.
• Complete commissioning of equipment to standard, on time and within budget.
• Respond to equipment issues in Transmission Buildings and Roadside Cabinets, day or night.
• Perform general maintenance and testing on fibre and copper equipment.
• Complete all documentation accurately and on time.

Who you are:

You should have previous experience in a similar role, with familiarity in fault finding and testing in fibre or copper environments.

Key Requirements:

• Experience with motorway communications or similar systems.
• Knowledge of telecommunication networks, copper jointing, and fibre splicing & testing.
• Strong health and safety awareness.
• Ability to repair fibre or copper cable breaks.
• Willingness to work overtime or on call when required.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
