Job Title: RF Design Authority

Location: Cowes– We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role.

Salary: Circa £ 70 k depending on skills and experience

Put yourself into a dynamic RF Design Authority role at the forefront of real world demands in the defence industry. Alongside ensuring operational excellence for our existing products, there will be the opportunity to develop next generation radar products to counter emerging threats and contribution to our strategy for new technology. Your new day-to-day will be exciting and diverse by applying the principles of Engineering across the entire engineering development lifecycle as you join in developing radar systems used by those who serve and protect us.

What you’ll be doing:

Provide technical leadership and guidance on RF engineering matters.

Develops, promotes and shares new technologies for implementation across businesses and programme(s)

Integration activities in a complex equipment environment.

Generates design documentation and technical reports

Conducting Full Engineering Lifecycle and conducting progress, peer, and design reviews.

Ensuring design is compliant with specifications, standards and regulations

Your skills and experience:

Substantial experience of:

RF technologies, system and circuit architectures

Simulating RF systems (for example using ADS or HFSS or similar tools)

Generating component level designs for volume production

Integration, design proving, and defect resolution

Gathering of evidence to support acceptance, fitness for purpose, legislative requirements, and safety

A degree in Electronic Engineering or strongly related subject (electrical engineers, telecommunications)

The team:

This technical role focuses on the RF aspects of hardware design, developing solutions for new products and integrating technologies into legacy systems. The role involves creating detailed designs, addressing engineering challenges, and managing board-level and unit-level designs.

BAE Systems’ Radar Sector is advancing next-generation radar and sensor systems, offering the opportunity to work on projects across the engineering lifecycle, supporting both UK and export markets.

Our workplace in Cowes is an easily accessible commute from Southampton with a regular foot passenger ferry and BAE shuttle service from the ferry terminal to site.
