Job description

Two Personal Care Assistants for a lady P/T @ £13.74/hr in Berwick-upon-Tweed - Berwick-upon-Tweed - TD15

To provide support for up to 7 hours per week split into calls to cover Monday - Sunday. To support a lady in her 40s with some aspects of personal care.

We are currently looking to recruit Support Workers to provide support for a lady in her 40s. You will assist with personal hygiene and apply creams as needed.

We are looking for female support workers due to the nature of the role. Ideally, you should have experience supporting people in their homes or in the community. You should be chatty, have a good sense of humour, and be happy doing repeated tasks.

This lady is friendly and enjoys company. Although her health currently limits her activities, she enjoys catching up with people and watching TV. She lives with her family, and this support will ensure they get a break from their caring role.

We would prefer you to be a car driver with your own transport.

Hours: 30 min call AM – 8am on weekdays, can be more flexible on weekends; 30 min call PM – 6pm on weekdays, can be more flexible on weekends. These calls will cover Monday-Sunday, so we will be looking for 2 support workers to split the week. This will be discussed further in the interview.

MAIN DUTIES

• Support with personal hygiene tasks and applying creams
• Ensure safety at all times when moving around at home

Rate of pay: £13.74 per hour. Holidays are 5.6 weeks per year, pro-rata.

Person Specification

Successful applicants must:

• Ideally have experience working as a support worker with children or adults
• Have a positive understanding towards people with disabilities
• Have a genuine interest in working within social care
• Have a high degree of initiative
• Be punctual and reliable
• Be flexible
• Have a happy, positive, and caring nature
• Respect confidentiality
• Be a car driver preferable and must have business insurance. An Enhanced DBS Check is required, cost to be met by the employer.
