Mechanical & Electrical Asset Technician - Sheringham, Norfolk

Salary: £36,644 - £44,000 depending on experience

Job Details

This is a reactive role offering standby and overtime opportunities, in addition to the basic salary. The position involves the use of a company van for business purposes, and is a permanent role working 37 hours per week across Sheringham, North Walsham, Fakenham, and surrounding areas.

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced multi-skilled Mechanical Technician with electrical experience to join our Water Services Team. You will ensure the water supply process delivers safe, wholesome drinking water by maintaining equipment at water treatment works, reservoirs, towers, and pumping stations. The role involves planned maintenance, reactive repairs, working on water quality instruments, and obtaining a Licence to Operate Qualification.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain and operate mechanical assets such as pumps, screens, mixers, and chemical dosing systems
  • Service and calibrate water quality instruments and control systems
  • Participate in standby rota and respond promptly to incidents
Candidate Requirements
  • Completed an apprenticeship in a relevant subject
  • NVQ/ONC/BTEC Level 2 or equivalent in a relevant subject
  • Ability to learn quickly and use initiative
  • Flexibility to work standby shifts and live within the surrounding areas
