WHAT IS ON OFFER

Alfred H Knight has an exciting opportunity for a Software Developer to join our IT team based at our Head Office in Liverpool, UK. This role will focus on developing systems that will meet the continuing needs of the Alfred H Knight Group of companies. You will provide 2nd and 3rd line support for all internal systems within the group that the development team has created. You will also be responsible for ensuring the resolution of crisis situations, resolving all issues to a satisfactory conclusion.

To be successful at Alfred H Knight you will need to display the following:

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND WORK EXPERIENCE

Essential

1. Work as a member of the Development Team designing and writing programs.
2. Interpret business requirements and technical specification documents.
3. Perform coding to technical specifications, whilst following coding standards.
4. Investigate, analyse and document reported defects.
5. Perform maintenance programming and correction of identified defects.
6. Create and implement unit and integration tests.
7. Create and maintain technical documentation.
8. To take ownership of all technical aspects of design, construction and unit testing of programs developed by the team.
9. During the life cycle of programs and systems, ensure that the necessary change control procedures are followed.
10. Share skills and successful methods of working with other team members.
11. Perform related duties as assigned.

Required Work Experience

1. Knowledge of Java, SQL, OO design, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Git, Vue.js (desirable).
2. Expertise in current computer hardware and software packages.
3. Degree in IT, Science or Maths.
4. Good attention to detail.
5. Team player.
6. Excellent communication skills.
