Poppyscotland, part of the Royal British Legion, offers vital support to Scotland’s Armed Forces community through its Advocacy and Complex Needs Service. We help individuals facing life’s toughest challenges, including homelessness, mental health issues, addiction, and family difficulties, by providing essential advice, assistance, and funding to help them regain stability and move forward in times of crisis.

We are delighted to announce that we are expanding our team and now recruiting for an Advocacy and Complex Needs Advisor.

As an Advocacy and Complex Needs Advisor, you’ll provide expert, person-centred support to beneficiaries facing multiple challenges, such as homelessness, mental health issues, addiction, domestic abuse, and involvement with the Criminal Justice system.

You’ll manage a caseload, offering tailored advice, advocacy, and practical solutions to help individuals and families overcome barriers and take control of their future. This includes conducting visits, creating and adapting action plans, and connecting beneficiaries to essential services, such as mental health, addiction, and housing support.

You’ll also provide emotional support, ensure effective risk management and safeguarding, and collaborate with statutory and third-sector agencies to empower beneficiaries and provide ongoing, holistic support.

The role is homebased covering Scotland with the requirement to travel for beneficiary face to face appointments and other organisational meetings and training within Scotland.
