Job Description

A specialist UK-based Engineering and Environmental Consultancy is looking for a Noise Monitoring Technician to join their growing acoustics team. The position is remote, based in the East Midlands.

Essential Requirements

1. A degree in Acoustics (or a related subject) - MSc or BSc level.
2. Around 1-2 years' experience working with a UK consultancy.
3. Tech IOA membership (or higher).
4. Either completed - or happy to complete - the IOA Certificate of Competence in Environmental Noise Measurement.
5. Great attention to detail and strong note-taking skills.
6. Comfortable working alone and travelling around the UK (a company van is provided).

It would be great if you also have:

1. Hands-on experience calibrating and maintaining noise monitoring equipment.
2. Some exposure to Rail, Traffic, or Transportation projects.

The Role

• Carrying out background and operational noise surveys across different sites.
• Making sure monitoring equipment is clean, well-maintained, and properly calibrated.
• Preparing clear, accurate survey reports.
• Working closely with the wider acoustics and environmental teams.
