Job Description

Turner & Townsend is actively seeking Cost / Senior Cost Managers to support the delivery of new and exciting construction projects related to central and local government, including the development of new prisons across the UK.

Our cost management professionals handle commissions of varying sizes, typically leading or supporting projects ranging from £10-£50m, with appropriate support depending on the complexity. The successful candidate will also directly support Directors in delivering some of the most high-profile projects in the region.

Role Objectives
  1. Pre- and post-contract duties including preparation of cost estimates, procurement and tendering, contract administration, variation, final account, etc.
  2. Completing feasibility studies.
  3. Estimating and cost planning, including producing and presenting the final cost plan.
  4. Tendering and procurement activities, including managing pre-qualification, producing tender lists, preliminaries, tender analysis, tender reports, and compiling contract documents.
  5. Ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting and valuations.
  6. Interfacing with clients and other consultants at all project stages.
  7. Participating in post-contract cost variances and change control processes.
  8. Performing cost risk analysis and contributing to value engineering; negotiating and approving final accounts.
  9. Contributing to team development by sharing experience with junior staff.
Qualifications
  1. A proven track record of delivering high-quality cost management or quantity surveying services across the full project lifecycle.
  2. Ideally professionally qualified (RICS or similar).
  3. Degree or HNC level qualification.
  4. Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects successfully.
