Job summary

We have an exciting vacancy within the Access & Triage Team at Tanworth Lane for an Access & Triage Coordinator to join our team. You will be an integral part of the triage team, providing a professional and effective response to the patients who access our services. This will be both online and over the telephone, signposting patients correctly to ensure they receive the right care, at the right time, by the right healthcare professional for their individual care needs. You will provide support to the clinical triage team, designing and monitoring rotas, managing the appointment system, and providing support and training for administrative staff.

Main duties of the job
  • Deliver a proactive and engaging service following triage guidelines and protocols.
  • Probe and question patients effectively, documenting patient information accurately and appropriately.
  • Manage and monitor the triage rotas and appointment system.
  • Process online and telephone requests for appointments, visits, and consultations, directing patients to suitable healthcare professionals.
  • Initiate contact with and respond to requests from patients, team members, and associated agencies.
  • Promote and assist patients in accessing services via online portals.
  • Work closely with triage clinicians, offering administrative support via in-house systems.
