Job description

Function / Area: Exposure & Catastrophe Management

Reporting to: Head of Exposure and Catastrophe Management

Position Summary

We are seeking an ECM Analyst to join our London team. The role involves reporting and exposure management of the non-natural catastrophe risk portfolio across all CNA Hardy lines of business. The analyst will ensure that our models and methodologies are robust and validated appropriately.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Produce and develop management information related to non-natural catastrophe aggregating risks, including Cyber, Liability, and man-made property risks.
  2. Create and maintain scenarios for non-natural catastrophe underwriting risks, including RDSs and risk appetites.
  3. Contribute to external reporting such as RDS, Standard Formula, Pool Returns, etc.
  4. Ensure data completeness to facilitate risk quantification.
  5. Assist in developing tools and methodologies to measure and control non-natural catastrophe risks.
  6. Participate in Exposure and Catastrophe Management Group and related working groups.
  7. Develop and maintain procedures and documentation.
  8. Support system upgrade testing to ensure functionality, operational requirements, and reporting efficiency.
  9. Assist the Reinsurance team with data for Non Nat Cat reinsurance placements.
  10. Participate in model and scenario validation, including sensitivity analysis and output adjustments.
  11. Contribute to man-made catastrophe event response where appropriate.
  12. Assist management with ad hoc ECM projects.
  13. Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  14. Perform additional duties as assigned.
