Job description

If you are looking for something different, dislike large law firms with high targets and long hours, then look no further. Our client is a long-established, prestigious Legal 500 rated law firm in the heart of Essex.

With top-quality work, this forward-thinking firm is completely committed to work-life balance and flexible working. In addition, they offer fantastic prospects for advancement, top market-rate salaries, and a bonus scheme that pays between 10-20% of fees, exceeding three times the salary.

They now wish to expand their already hugely successful construction team, which is both Legal 500 and Chambers recommended.

There is an excellent opportunity for a newly or recently qualified lawyer with at least a 6-month construction seat.

You will advise clients on construction documentation, including contracts, sub-contracts, collateral warranties, professional appointments, and bonds. This involves advising on various standard forms such as JCT and NEC, as well as bespoke documentation. Depending on your background, you may also advise on disputes or other development work.

The firm acts for developers, consultants, main contractors, and specialist subcontractors. The companies they represent mainly have turnovers between £5 million and £25 million. Much of the work involves commercial buildings and blocks of apartments. They maintain a strong core client base that provides repeat work regularly.
