Job Description:
Leonardo is seeking a Lead Electromagnetic Materials and Apertures Scientist to work on developing Low Observable (LO) sensors for airborne platforms, collaborating with the UK Ministry of Defence. The role involves applying electromagnetic principles to sensor design and integration, engaging in research, simulation, and development across various stages from concept to measurement.
The successful candidate will work with a team of experts in antenna design, materials, and mechanical engineering, and will be involved in developing advanced solutions, researching meta-materials, and ensuring system compatibility through modeling and testing. Responsibilities include presenting findings, providing guidance, and contributing to innovative sensor technologies.
Requirements include a degree in a STEM field, experience or education in electromagnetics (LO, stealth, RF, antenna design, CEM), and skills in EM simulation tools like CST Microwave Studio. Desirable qualifications include a Master’s or PhD, programming skills (MATLAB preferred), measurement experience, and professional registration. Security clearance is mandatory.
