Brook Street Ltd is excited to offer an excellent opportunity for a Full-Time Admin Assistant (Usher) at Portsmouth Magistrates Court (PO1 2EB), where no two days are the same!

  • Location: Portsmouth Magistrates Court, PO1 2EB
  • Contract Type: Full-time temporary contract until 30/06/2025, offering stability and the chance to build a new career path.
  • Hours: Monday to Friday, 09:00 - 17:00, with some Saturday mornings (08:00-15:00). If you work a Saturday, you'll get time off during the week (day to be agreed).
  • Pay Rate: £12.07 per hour

Key Responsibilities:

  • Front-of-House Duties: Welcome and assist all visitors to the court, answering face-to-face enquiries with professionalism and courtesy.
  • Courtroom Management: Prepare courtrooms, manage hearing schedules, and support Legal Advisers with essential case information.
  • Customer Service on a New Level: Book in parties attending hearings, manage courtroom proceedings, administer oaths, and keep everyone informed of any changes.
  • Tech-Savvy Tasks: Operate digital video equipment in court and maintain accurate records of hearings.
  • Team Support: Help with general clerical tasks, use of computers, and occasionally cover reception duties.
