We’re looking for Customer Team Members to join our team at Co-op. When you join Co-op, you’ll get amazing benefits including 31 days holiday, a pension with up to 10% Co-op contribution, access to virtual healthcare services for you and your family, and a 30% discount on all Co-op products in our stores.

As a Customer Team Member, you’ll be part of a friendly team dedicated to helping our customers. We’ll look to you to provide great service on the tills and the shop floor, while also performing a wide range of tasks around the store like re-stocking shelves and cleaning up spillages.

At Co-op, we do things differently. For over 175 years, we’ve focused on making things fairer for our members and communities. As a colleague, we promise to take care of you, supporting your physical, mental, and financial wellbeing, along with market-leading policies for life events such as bereavement, pregnancy loss, fertility treatment, and menopause.

What you'll do
  1. Provide friendly and thoughtful service—putting customers first: responding to queries, promoting Co-op products and Membership, and delivering a great shopping experience.
  2. Work collaboratively to support your store colleagues in solving customer problems.
  3. Ensure the store is safe and compliant—keeping shelves stocked, and ensuring prices, dates, and temperatures are accurate.
  4. Assist in introducing new products and services—making transitions smooth and sharing experiences with colleagues.
  5. Support your local community—participating in activities and events.
This job would suit people who have
  1. A genuine care for the needs of customers and members.
  2. Excellent people skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with customers and colleagues.
  3. A positive attitude towards change and problem-solving.
  4. The flexibility to work various shifts.
Why Co-op?
  1. 30% discount on all Co-op products in-store, plus 10% discounts on other brands.
  2. A pension scheme with up to 10% employer contributions.
  3. Wagestream—a money management app providing access to a percentage of your pay as you earn it.
  4. 31 days of holiday (including bank holidays, pro-rata for part-time colleagues).
  5. Virtual healthcare services—including GP appointments, eye care, mental health support, and nutrition and fitness consultations.
  6. 24/7 employee assistance service.
  7. Full, paid training and dedicated support for personal development and career progression.
  8. Rotas shared three weeks in advance and accessible via your phone.
  9. Cycle-to-work scheme.
