Job Summary
As part of the Joint Services Command & Staff College (JSCSC) HQ, to provide business critical Supplier Relationship Management activity for the Command and Staff Academic Provider contract and budget management delivery to JSCSC.
Responsible for the day-to-day supplier relationship management of the Command and Staff Academic Provider contract; monitoring resources, performance, and quality of delivery, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and cost-effectiveness and helping improve overall Value for Money (VfM) for the Authority.
This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.
Job Description
Monitor academic resource usage (contract hours) in line with agreed provision.
- Monitor and track major and minor change requests in accordance with the Contract Management (CM) Process (in consultation with DefAc CM team).
- Develop collaborative, effective working relationships with JSCSC, RCDS and LCSC Course planning staff to understand and plan requirement for academic provision and forecast changes (and with DefAc PFI contract manager as required).
- Engage routinely with RCDS and Land Command & Staff College on wider SRM requirements.
As part of Contract Governance processes, attend regular contract governance meetings, provide management information, advice, and other input to support successful outcomes. Represent the Designated Officer (Dir JSCSC) as necessary.
- Attend monthly Contract Management Board and quarterly Academic Provider Board (supporting Dir JSCSC as required).
- Attend JSCSC Course Committees as required.
- Develop and maintain close working relationships with Defence Academy (Def Ac) HQ CM, Commercial and Finance teams ensuring delivery, governance and information requirements are correctly managed, accounted for and assured.
- Develop close and effective working relationship with Contractor’s management team.
Support SO1 Resources to manage JSCSC Budget management
Contribute to wider JSCSC business management requirements and lead on appropriate bespoke JSCSC projects/work strands as directed by SO1 Res/ COO

Where business needs allow, some roles may be suitable for a combination of office and home-based working. This is a non-contractual arrangement where all office-based employees will be expected to spend a minimum of 60% of their working time in office, subject to capacity and any required workplace adjustments. Requirements to attend other locations for official business, or work in another MOD office, will also count towards this level of attendance.
