Job description

Job summary

We are looking to recruit two motivated, enthusiastic, and clinically capable Band 5 Trained Nurses to join our nursing team for our 25-bedded Ward at Helston Community Hospital. The Trained Nurse role requires the post holder to be committed to the ongoing development of the ward and multidisciplinary team working. We aim to deliver the highest standard of patient and rehabilitative care to our predominantly elderly patients.

The ideal applicant will possess good organisational, communication, and clinical skills relevant to the post and be able to act as a positive role model. You will undertake a range of Early, Late, and Night duties on a rotational basis to support 24-hour nursing care, 7 days a week. Although based at Helston Community Hospital, a flexible working approach is required to support other hospitals in the locality as service needs require.

We seek motivated, forward-thinking individuals with a 'can-do' attitude and a passion for nursing. In return, we will support your career development and involve you in the future development of services.

Main duties of the job
  1. The assessment of care needs and the development and implementation of programmes of care in the ward setting.
  2. To be a team leader and provide all forms of nursing care without direct supervision.
  3. To provide mentorship to pre- and post-registration students and Healthcare Assistants undertaking the National Vocational Awards.

Helston Community Hospital offers a range of services focusing on assessment, rehabilitation, and palliative care, including:

  • 25 inpatient beds
  • Minor Injury Unit
