As a Principal DevOps Engineer at JP Morgan Chase within the Wholesale Credit Risk Technology organization, you will leverage your advanced knowledge to drive Engineering Excellence, improve the developer experience, promote adoption, eliminate toil and friction, and encourage participation across development practices. You will also focus on tooling adoption, standardization, and enhancing developer community engagement.
Job Responsibilities- Drive Engineering Excellence by promoting core engineering best practices within the organization.
- Promote adoption of tooling and standardization across teams.
- Identify friction points, facilitate their resolution through proper channels, and escalate issues to remove blockers.
- Implement and improve compliance, security, and control requirements for applications.
- Collaborate with development teams, SRE, and central teams to influence positive change and streamline software delivery.
- Implement CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
- Enhance software delivery speed and reliability through automation and collaboration.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills- Deep knowledge of software applications and DevOps processes, with expertise in one or more technical disciplines.
- Ability to understand system relationships and utilize a broad set of tools to automate and improve reliability.
- Strong development skills in Java and/or Python, SQL.
- Experience translating research, analysis, and testing into business recommendations.
- Ability to manage and be accountable for work across multiple architects and designers.
- Experience partnering across functions such as Cybersecurity and Data to develop efficient, developer-friendly systems.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of expressing complex ideas clearly and providing constructive feedback.
- Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI), configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef), containerization and orchestration (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Experience with Cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP), monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana), and IaC tools (Terraform, CloudFormation).
