We have a 37.5 hour vacancy for a Mobile position (transport provided) within our Estates and Facilities Directorate. Shifts are between 8am and 4pm Monday to Friday.

The Mobile Deep Clean Assistant is responsible for undertaking unsupervised thorough cleans of inpatient sites. This work will be undertaken at NHS properties throughout LPT. This will include premises and areas where patients have mental health or special needs and behavioural problems and therefore the post holder will be required to have an understanding of their needs. The post holder will ensure that Infection Control, COSHH and Health and Safety procedures are always followed.

Candidates must have a valid UK Driving Licence for this role. Applicants are asked to bring their photo ID and right to work including proof of address to their interviews.

Job Description Summary (Main duties and responsibilities)

  • To clean to prescribed work schedules and rotas for designated areas, as specified;
  • To adhere to written procedures for check cleaning, damp dusting, damp mopping, full cleaning, periodic cleaning, spray cleaning and steam cleaning;
  • To adhere to the Trust colour coding system to prevent contamination;
  • To use cleaning equipment within designated areas in accordance with Health and Safety at Work Act 1974;
  • To ensure the correct economical use of materials and equipment, seeking advice from the Facilities Supervisor when in doubt;
  • To handle waste (including clinical and infected) in compliance with Trust policies and procedures;
  • To ensure the safe storage of all equipment and materials;
  • To report to the Deep Clean Mobile Facilities Supervisor any mechanical defects, any equipment in need of repair and any mishaps or untoward incidents;
  • To conform to the requirements for the cleaning of body fluid spillages in non-patient areas and implement as required, Following the Infection Control Policy;

The post holder will be reliable, flexible, well organised, self-motivated, has good interpersonal communication skills and is able to work effectively alone or as part of the team.
