Care Worker

Job Type: Temporary to Permanent
Hours: Full-time
Shifts: 7:00 AM – 2:00 PM & 4:00 PM – 10:00 PM (Flexibility to work both shifts as needed)
Hourly Rate: £12 p/h – Mileage reimbursement for travel between client locations.
Location: Carlisle

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Worker to join our client and provide high-quality care to elderly individuals in their homes. As a Care Worker, you will be responsible for assisting with daily activities, ensuring comfort, and maintaining the dignity of elderly clients.

This role requires someone with a genuine passion for making a difference in the lives of elderly people, as well as the ability to work independently and manage various tasks. A valid driver’s license and your own vehicle are required as you will be traveling to clients' homes.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Assist elderly clients with daily living activities, including personal care (bathing, dressing, grooming), mobility, and feeding.
2. Support clients with medication reminders and ensure they take their prescribed medication.
3. Help with light housekeeping and meal preparation.
4. Provide companionship and emotional support to clients.
5. Observe and report any changes in the health or well-being of clients to the senior care team.
6. Maintain accurate care records and reports.

Requirements:

1. Previous experience in elderly care or a similar role is preferred but not essential.
2. Compassionate, patient, and able to work independently.
3. A valid driver’s license and access to your own vehicle are essential for this role.
4. Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends.
5. A DBS check will be required (or you must be willing to undergo one).
6. Ability to communicate effectively with elderly clients, family members, and the care team.
