The School of Vocational and Technical Studies (VTS) at South Thames College is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Digital & IT Skills lecturer to deliver high-quality teaching, learning, assessment, and tutorial support to students, aiming to maximize achievement and continuous improvement.
You will develop, initiate, promote, and sustain innovative and quality improvement strategies, creating and implementing engaging teaching, learning, and assessment methods. By selecting appropriate assessment criteria, evaluating student work, and providing constructive feedback, you will seek to improve performance through reflection on teaching methods and by gathering and analyzing feedback.
We are looking for someone with a teaching qualification (or willing to obtain one), a relevant degree in IT or a related field, and recent teaching experience in Digital & IT Skills within an FE College. A successful track record in tutoring, supporting learners, and implementing target setting, monitoring, and reviewing progress is essential. Evidence of outstanding teaching, learning, assessment, and effective employer engagement in curriculum design and delivery is required.
You should possess a strong working knowledge of current frameworks for teaching, learning, assessment, and quality assurance, along with interdisciplinary skills and experience. An advanced level of computer literacy, proficiency with office software, and excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) are necessary. The ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines is also important.
The successful candidate will be eligible for any salary increase resulting from the annual cost of living review, effective in the new academic year.
