Chartered Building Surveyor (RICS)

£45k + 10% Car Allowance + Discretionary Bonus

On offer is the chance to work for a new, innovative company which is looking to expand across the whole of the UK. This is a primarily remote role offering great flexibility where you will work from home aside from attending site visits within two hours of your designated region.

We are looking for an experienced Building Surveyor with damp and mould experience to join our team.

Reporting to the Head of Technical Services, you will be working from home, based in the North east area. You will be assessing residential properties following the completion of condition surveys. You will specifically advise on damp and mould issues, identifying potential remedial measures.

As a Building Surveyor, you will play an essential role offering building fabric expertise and taking the lead in producing our recommendations report.

We’re looking for someone who has excellent knowledge and experience of buildings with a key eye for detail and a passion for delivering excellent customer service. Additionally, as our asset management solution is an innovative IT tool, you must be computer literate.

You will be providing a professional surveying service for the purpose of assessing and improving our social housing clients’ owned property stock. Specifically, this will include.

Assessing previously executed stock condition surveys on properties and updating our asset management tool.

Undertaking desktop property damp and mould assessments to correctly identify the root cause.

  • Consistently monitoring and reporting on to ensure that services meet performance targets.

What will you bring as a Building Surveyor?

Prior knowledge and interest in building fabrics is essential. A related degree, professional qualification or similar, to evidence this, would be advantageous.

Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to build trusting and collaborative relationships and dialogue between and the direct team, tenant/residents, and key client points of contact, is imperative.

The ability to work autonomously and flexibly, managing your own diary with good organisational and problem-solving skills.

You will work with honesty and integrity ensuring the highest standards of customer care at met, always.

  • In addition to general skills an interest in IT/software is essential due to the nature of our asset tool.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • RICS
  • Extensive experience working as a Building Surveyor, preferably within the housing sector.
  • Strong knowledge of building regulations, health and safety standards, and construction techniques.

Experience:

Building Surveying: 5 years (required)

Damp and Mould: 5 years (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

Driving Licence (required)

  • Disclosure Scotland / UK equivalent
