As Technician Manager, you are responsible for the day-to-day engineering activities and management of the Shift Technicians running across 3 shifts, with a team of up to 10 engineers reporting to you. Your focus will be ensuring that reactive and corrective maintenance comply with all standards and are completed in a timely and efficient manner. This is a key role supporting the achievement of primary site KPIs.

You will work alongside the Maintenance Leader, responsible for Preventative maintenance, reporting to the Engineering Manager. You will coordinate closely as part of the engineering management team to drive improvements across the board.

Our site in Cotes Park produces professional cleaning chemicals, where fast, accurate, and thorough repairs and corrective maintenance are critical to our success.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Driving operational performance of Safety, Quality, Speed, and Cost KPIs in your area and supporting the Engineering Manager.
  2. Managing and scheduling a team of 10 Technicians, ensuring key activities are delegated, and progress is monitored and tracked.
  3. Attending daily meetings with a cross-functional team.
  4. Supporting the production team in prioritising issues and utilising the team effectively to improve performance.
  5. Introducing new machinery and technologies to the site and improving production line effectiveness through breakdown investigations.
  6. Ensuring outstanding Health and Safety compliance, along with meeting local legislation and Good Manufacturing Practices.
  7. Participating in site improvement processes.
  8. Coaching problem-solving tools such as 3Qs, 5 Why's, and ensuring root-cause investigations and corrections.
  9. Conducting investigations related to HSE/Quality incidents.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS
  • Management experience in a similar role.
  • Electrical and/or Mechanical qualifications (C&G, NVQ/ONC/HNC).
  • Experience in manufacturing industries such as Packaging, Food, FMCG, or Maintenance environments.
  • Understanding of manufacturing utilities and plant equipment (Steam Boilers, Compressed air, Water treatment).
  • Awareness of workplace and chemical hazards and regulations is desirable.
  • Proficiency in MS Word and Excel.
