Job description

Your new company
This Science Technician job is based at a school in Doncaster. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about science, where you will be part of a team dedicated to fostering curiosity and innovation in young minds. The school prides itself on bringing out the potential in all students and has a dedicated workforce that concentrates on educational outcomes.

Your new role
This role is to support the practical science teaching and science teachers, ensuring that equipment is in safe working order and that materials are safely stored and documented. Within the role you will be expected to:

  1. Prepare materials and equipment for science practical work, cleaning, storing and disposal upon completion
  2. Preparing solutions, assembling apparatus, delivering equipment and materials to science laboratories as requested
  3. Collecting materials and equipment from laboratories after use, checking and safe storage
  4. Disposing of used or unwanted materials in a safe manner
  5. Assisting science teachers in the classroom in delivering practical activities
  6. Risk assessments

What you'll need to succeed
This role requires an individual who is passionate about science. In order to succeed in this role, you will need:

  1. Laboratory experience
  2. High standards
  3. Inventory Management
  4. Safe store of equipment and chemicals
  5. Motivated and proactive

This is a permanent job. An Enhanced DBS will be required for the role. If you don't have one, it can be processed. The school is looking for someone to start as soon as possible.
