Job Title: Technical Sales Manager – Water Storage Tanks

Industry Sector: Storage Tanks, Tank Supply and Installation, Main & Sub Contractors, Specification Sales, Water Authorities, Drinking/Wastewater Industry, Liquid Containment Solutions, Sectional Steel Water Tanks, Water and Wastewater Storage

Area to be covered: England & Wales – ideally based in South East/ Midlands

Remuneration: £45,000-£50,000 Neg. + up to 20% Profit Related Company Bonus

The role of the Technical Sales Manager – Water Storage Tanks will involve:

1. Field sales position, providing the design, supply, and installation of sectional steel water tanks and a range of water and wastewater storage solutions.
2. Selling into water authorities (drinking/wastewater industry) and main contractors.
3. Approximately 50% of your time selling directly into water utilities and managing projects through main contractors and other specialist contractors.
4. The remaining 50% selling into main contractors after stimulating demand via water authority/water utility companies.
5. AMP8 regulations require water utilities to improve/modernize infrastructure; our client provides temporary drinking water or wastewater systems during these projects, as well as solutions for repairs, accidents, or damage requiring immediate action.
6. Project-based sales can vary from £10,000 to £150,000 for storage tanks ranging from 10,000 to 5 million liters.
7. You will be the sole dedicated field sales representative, tasked with growing your division from current turnover levels of £1 million.

The ideal applicant will be a:

• Technical Sales Manager – Water Storage Tanks
• With experience selling into water authorities or water utility companies.
• Having contacts within water authorities or water utility companies is highly advantageous.
• Ideally sold storage tanks, but open to related products like pumps, valves, fittings, etc., associated with water movement.
• With 5-10 years of field sales experience.
• A strong closer, not afraid to ask for an order.
• On an upward career trajectory, with succession planning over the next 5-10 years.
• Highly motivated, conscientious, proactive, and organized.
