Job summary

A leading healthcare provider is seeking a dedicated Healthcare Assistant to support patients with terminal illnesses in their homes. This role involves providing palliative care, assisting with hygiene, and monitoring symptoms during night shifts. Qualifications

  • Demonstrable experience in End-of-Life Care.
  • Current valid driving licence and car insured for business use.
  • Relevant experience in Palliative Care is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with hygiene, monitor symptoms, and provide medication support.
  • Maintain detailed record-keeping and ensure meaningful contact with patients.
  • Work night shifts from 10pm to 7am providing 1:1 care.

Salary Information: Marie Curie Clinical Pay Scale, aligned with AFC BAND 2 £22,383 pro rata per annum, plus enhancements

Hours/Contract: Permanent Night Shifts - Full time, Part Time and Bank

Based: Devon - within 25 miles of your home address

What we are looking for:

  • An NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care or demonstrable experience in End-of-Life Care
  • Current valid driving licence allowing you to drive in the UK and the use of a car insured for business use
  • Relevant experience in Palliative Care is desirable
  • Emotional strength and the ability to work independently are crucial, with ongoing training and support provided
  • Ability to work night shifts is essential
  • Access to a computer and internet to meet mandatory training requirements

With experience in End of Life care, you're prepared to make a real difference. Our one-to-one approach to care ensures meaningful contact with patients and families, typically in their own homes. Duties include assisting with hygiene, monitoring symptoms, medication support, and detailed record-keeping. Basic understanding of symptom control is essential.

Our Night services run from 10pm - 7am, providing care on a 1:1 basis to support patients and families with palliative diagnoses at home.
