Wimbledon College is a popular, oversubscribed school that prides itself on its exam results at both GCSE and A level, which are significantly above national averages. As a Jesuit school, our ethos aligns with St Ignatius Loyola’s vision for Jesuit education: “for improvement in living and learning for the greater glory of God and the common good.” Central to this vision and to the College is the education of the whole person, encouraging each pupil to strive for excellence in all they do.

The school is housed in striking Grade II listed buildings on Edge Hill, above the Sacred Heart parish church, on a spacious green site within a conservation area. Private and public funds have supported substantial development of the College’s facilities over the past fifteen years.

The College currently enrolls nearly 1300 boys, including 270 in the Sixth Form. It is a great place to work, with a supportive and committed staff who share high expectations. All teachers are specialists in their subjects, and there is a well-established CPD programme encouraging collaborative research and pedagogical development.

Wimbledon College has a robust system of pastoral care and discipline. All teachers serve as form tutors and work with Heads of Line to ensure every boy receives support, care, and challenge to progress academically and engage in the wider school community. The school’s intake is truly comprehensive across academic, social, economic, and ethnic lines, drawing students from southwest London, Surrey, and north of the Thames. Last year, students joined from over 40 different schools, and Y7 places are regularly oversubscribed threefold.

We encourage all students to participate in extracurricular clubs and activities, offering over 80 different opportunities. The school has a rich tradition in drama and music, supported by parent donations, and maintains an extensive sports programme.
