GSL Education is looking to appoint a Sports Coach to work in secondary schools across Barnsley. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to inspire and develop young athletes, instilling teamwork, discipline, and a passion for sports.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver engaging training sessions to enhance students’ skills and fitness.
• Develop individual and team training programmes, focusing on technique, strategy, and conditioning.
• Ensure student safety by implementing proper guidelines and equipment usage.
• Provide constructive feedback and motivation to build confidence and resilience.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff regarding schedules, progress, and match results.

Requirements:

• A degree in Sport and Exercise Science or Physical Education (2:1 or higher).
• Strong knowledge of sports rules, strategies, and coaching techniques.
• Understanding of sports injury prevention, management, and rehabilitation.
• Leadership and communication skills to engage and inspire students.
• Ability to create a positive and inclusive team environment.
• An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
